Black Screen 27 inch IMAC 2010 model

I have an IMAC which boots OK, however without notice the screen will go black. I have tried the NVRAM/PRAM procedures and still have the problem. Is there any way of isolating the issue using diagnostics etc.

Any help appreciated Barrie

Hi Barrie,

Have you blown the dust out of the intakes lately?

What temperatures does this App report? Especially the GPU.

This App can be used to speed up the fans, all my iMacs would be dead without it.

Never ever ever drop fan speeds below the speed that the Mac itself is calling for.

Hello, yes I have cleaned the intakes and I have also placed a fan app to enable manual fan control. I cannot provide the GPU temp because the screen continually goes black. When I press the power button the screen will come on for a second and go black. Any help to sort this issue appreciated.

Thanks

Barrie
