My (old) rechargable Apple wireless keyboard won't hold a charge now more than a day or so. I don't see any way to remove/replace the battery. Must I buy a new keyboard?

Those keyboards are non-repairable sealed units.
Like Best Buy, the Apple Store will only replace if under warranty or sell you a new one.
At this point your options seem to be,
Try a different USB charging cable.
Try a different USB wall charger.
If those do not help? Then take the keyboard to your local Apple Store or AASP.

Cable and wall outlet are OK - work normally for other devices.
Nearest genuine Apple Store 70 miles away. Best Buy "genius bar" closer to me won't service my keyboard.
