Studio display suddenly oversaturated

Mac M4 Mini, Studio Display

During use, colors suddenly garish, over-saturated. Light gray icons not visible. Multiple experiments with display settings no help. However, if I turn on screen sharing to a nearby TV, then turn off screen sharing, all is normal for a time.

Ideas?
