How do I upload music CDs and sync files from PC to iPhone after iTunes discontinuation?

Since itunes is no longer supported, I have a few issues....

Firstly you cant upload any music CD's as the files aren't compatible .cda files v aac flies or mp3 files.

You need an "Apple Devices" program from the App store to sync files from a pc to an I phone.

You will probably need I'm guessing, a file conversion program which will cost you a subscription.

Have I missed anything ?

I Tunes worked absolutely fine, just sayin'

Apple Music isn’t fit as a replacement for iTunes and in my experience they want you to subscribe to their streaming platform 🤬

Which seems to penalise those that used iTunes to play music from an iPhone or iPod

For the moment I haven’t found a mp3 file converter that allows me to add any new CD’s to Apple Music !

Over to you Apple…

I have downloaded Apple Music, which is fine, however it’s imported all my music track from I tunes !! Some 17,000 tracks. CD music file format’s aren’t compatible with the new Apple Music app

I would argue Apple Music isn't even adequate as a music playing app. It doesn't support CD import or export, nor does it support multiple libraries, home sharing, printing, and many other features iTunes users may be used to. The only potential benefit I can find is if you have an Apple Music subscription account you may be able to access hi-res streams and downloads while your subscription is active. In all other respects iTunes is a better media manager and player.

I was trying to sync songs and playlists to iphone. Got help from Apple, and they had me install Apple Music and Apple Devices. Was told that all my songs, playlists, etc. were still in iTunes. So much is lacking in Apple Music. Is there anyway to get iTunes back? I have worked hard creating many playlists and am afraid to lose them everything! If I delete those 2 apps, what happens. Just reinstall iTunes and start over there? Am I just stuck with Apple Music? Very frustrated. It seems they just want us to subscribe.

I’ve found an associated problem is backing up your library. To continue syncing with my iPhone I switched to Apple Music and Apple devices. It seemed to import most of my former iTunes music but definitely wants me to subscribe to a paid Apple Music streaming service which I can’t afford.

I have an old PC running Windows 10 which I’m having to replace due to Microsoft no longer supporting Windows 10 after October. Sixteen million PC’s can’t be upgraded. I want to backup my Apple Music library to a portable drive temporarily and then reinstate it on my new PC but can’t find a way to do that. Apple devices doesn’t show you where its file is stored or how to relocate a backup

i contacted Apple support but they only gave instructions for iTunes which I had to delete to continue synching. It seems that Apple haven’t thought things through as they’ve closed off the backup features.
