Huge files taking space in com.apple.compressor.TranscoderService

To avoid random compression artefacts and buggy poster frames while exporting a particular FCPX project I've had to export by sending to Compressor. However Compressor seems to be leaving behind a vast mess in this hidden directory and not cleaning up after itself. Can I safely delete these files?

FWIW, I never use Send to Compressor. You can add any compressor preset as a destination in side FCP, so instead of Send to Compressor you can do that same export directly from FCP.

Just go to Settings->Destinations, add a new destination using "Compressor Settings" and select the compressor setting that you want to use. You can add as many as you need.

It is usually faster, too.

Understood, Luis, but whenever I used the desired Compressor setting from FCPX 11 one particular section of the export would be covered in artefacts. Sending it to Compressor (and using the same setting!) was my workaround. Additionally, if you need a particular poster frame there's no option in FCPX.

Anyway, I have now deleted the massive files Compressor left on my system drive (out of desperate need for space!) and if I notice any errors as a result I'll post back.
