Cannot grant Quicktime access my microphone

I am using macbookpro with Sequoia 15.5. I am not able to add quicktime to the list of apps that has access to microphone. Microphone settings under Privacy is repopulated with selected apps and Quicktime is not one of them There is no option to add new apps (+). It is so frustrating
