Siri almost always answers on the wrong device STILL

If you search for the same title as this one you'll find multiple (now closed) discussions all with the same complaint.

My example from just now... I'm using my MacBook with my iPhone right next to me, face UP. I asked Siri a question similar to "Hey Siri, what is a car". On my MacBook the Siri dialog opened and started to type out "what is a" and then blanked out, simultaneously I could see the Siri ring on my iPhone activate and then go off... a second or two later the muffled voice of Siri came from the HomePod mini in the kitchen saying something like "I can't do that" or maybe "I didn't hear that"... I don't know because it was in the wrong room
