GarageBand undo button disappeared in editing mode/piano roll view after phone update
I am peeved. I updated my iOS from 16.2 to 18.5 the other day and have had an absolutely lovely slew of new glitches, issues, and overall objectively impractical and personally deeply annoying changes, but what’s taking the cake for me right now is the fact that apparently there’s just no undo option in the editing mode/piano roll view in GarageBand anymore. There used to be an undo button right there in the top left, as there usually is when it’s not in editing mode, but now there’s nothing there. If I delete something? I’m screwed! If I copy-pasted something I decided I didn’t want anymore? Manually deleting things is my only option!! Yay!!! So convenient!!!
I used to be able to hash things out very quickly in iOS GB, which is why I bother to even stick with iPhone at this point since it’s so handy to have, but the lack of undo in editing mode has proven to be a huge hindrance. I’ve tried to ignore it, I’ve tried to work despite it, but after a copy-paste nightmare that led to me having to manually delete every new note by hand lest I delete everything, I’m done. I’m absolutely done. Thus I am simply wondering if there’s any workaround or trick to get around this absolutely idiotic change. Please and thank you.
It occurred to me after writing this that I could always jump out of editing mode and hit undo in the default view, but that’s not exactly a fix. Jumping in and out of editing mode just to hit undo one time is ridiculously inconvenient and absolutely ruins any sane person’s workflow. They could have simply left the undo button right there. In editing mode. But no!! We had to make things harder for no reason. Thanks, whoever made this choice. May your socks always be sopping wet. :)
But yeah. If anyone has any advice, please share.
