I have been uploading older digital photos (pre iphone) into my icloud. The timestamp on the photos show when I took them (such as 2009), however they are showing up in the last few years of my icloud (2009 photo showing in 2023). How can I fix this?
If I look in my “all photos” - these older images are not showing up when they were taken (before my iCloud years)

I'm not sure what you mean by 2009 pictures "showing up" in 2023. Do you mean that the picture appears in the Library with pictures from 2023, or do you mean that when you look at the info window you see a 2023 date, event though it was taken in 2009?
Where the pictures show up in the Library depends on how you sort the Library. If the date in the info window is 2009, and if you have the Library sorted by date captured,
then the picture will appear with other 2009 pictures. If you have the Library sorted by Date Added,
then the 2009 pictures, loaded in 2023, will appear with others added in 2023. By the way, be careful that "Filter" is set to "All Items."
Pictures that are scanned, or which come through some emails or texts or other services, may lose the actual "Captured Date" information, and the date that the resulting file was arrived will be substituted. If you're asking how to change the date that you see in the info window
then you can change that with the Adjust menu.

Thanks for the response. Yes- the pictures that I took in 2009 (with info saying I took with a Canon power shot in 2009) show up “sprinkled” in my 2023 photos. I was not aware of the different settings in my iCloud to sort photos - so I am going to start there to investigate what settings I currently have. Thanks again and I will report back what I find out.
Thanks again, I was able to click on the "up arrow, down arrow" and switch from "sort by recently added" to "sort from date captured" to fix the issue- now the images all fall in line with dates as I scroll through.
Cool. There used to be no sort switch in Library. Adding that was great, but now you have to remember to check the switch. With new opportunities come new responsibilities!
