Why did my daughter's in-app purchase request go to my wife's phone instead of mine?

Odd thing happened. When my daughter requests an in app purchase I get the notification and approve or disapprove. My credit card is attached to her account. Yesterday she requested a purchase but instead of me getting the request notification it was sent to my wife’s phone. This has never happened before. My wife approved it and then it went to my phone where I approved it. The charges have not appeared on my account. My card is the only card linked to daughter's acct. anybody else experience this?
