Notifications not working on new iPhone
I just traded in an iPhone 14 Pro for a new iPhone 16 Pro and notifications are no longer working. I spent over and hour with Apple tech support on the first day going through every possible permutation and was told to call back and escalate in 24 hours if it still wasn't working. I called back the next day and persuaded them I needed senior tech support. I spent over an hour with that tech doing everything he could think of including turning on/off. He called back each time to continue .I asked him if this was a "known" problem and he finally said it was and the steps he was trying were recommended by the engineers. He finally had me reset it and, despite an email saying he had tried to call back, he did not. It directed me to call support back where I got a tech support person for whom English was a second language. I gave up. I now have to reset all settings and many of the notifications I had set up are not appearing in Notifications. Those that appeared all have the wrong settings - temporary instead of persistent for example. After several hours of working to restore my phone, it occurred to me that it might work if I deleted each app then restored them and set them up for notifications. I tried it on a few and some of them are now showing up in notifications.
