NO ! !
Avira , Third Party Security Software
Windows-like viruses that self-replicate and affect macOS don’t exist because of the underlying UNIX Foundation and permission limitations.
The macOS operating system resides in a sealed and read-only volume that can’t be opened by users or third-party applications.
Mac app security enhancements are sufficient to protect computers from malware.
Adware and malware can affect computers and are often downloaded from “shady” websites or developers who inject them into downloads.

Do not believe all of the fear mongering on the internet.
Viruses..? No, macOS can protect itself without the use of third-party junk-ware.
see > macOS - Security - Apple
Malware..? Maybe if you download a lot of unsigned junk-apps or blindly click on spam e-mail links...?
Then perhaps you need to run an occasional malware scan using Malwarebytes.

Nope! You should not install that junk on your Mac.
There are no viruses on the Mac.
Is there Malware? Yes, and it's usually self inflicted.
